March 1-7th "God Is Good" (Linda D)

God is good – All the time

107 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His  [a] mercy endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,
3 And gathered out of the lands,
From the east and from the west,
From the north and from the south.   Psalm 107:1-3  NKJV

28  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to
those who are the called according to His purpose.   Romans 8:28 NKJV

Life is sometimes so hard and you wonder where God is, other times all is great and
you and you have no worries.     The trick is to look for God in the hard times, the dark
storms, the catastrophic events.

When 911 happened, those planes were ½ empty when they’re normally almost full. So
many people listened to that inner voice and didn’t show up for the flight, some got
stuck in traffic and missed the flight.    God was and is good.   He brings good out of a
bad situation.

When my mom’s heart stopped and it took the doctors 40+ minutes to revive her with no
brain damage, so many miracles happened that first week.   She spent over 7 weeks in
the hospital and many more as time went on, so many rollercoasters of feelings but
through it all I kept thinking “God didn’t bring her out this far to let her go back again”  - it
was the chorus of a song we used to sing.   It was a simple song and I never really
understood it at the time – with my mom in the hospital it was my lifeline.   God was and
is good.   He brings good out of a bad situation if you.

With Covid and the stay at home order, we all have more time to spend with family, read
the Bible, reach out to help others, bring a little brightness to someone’s day.    Covid is
still bad but with God we can make good out of a bad situation.    God was and is good.
He brings good out of a bad situation.

God is good ALL the time, in the good times and bad.   He is there with you, helping you
through it, helping you grow and become a stronger, wiser Christian if you let him.
Next time things look bad, you’re in the middle of chaos and you don’t where to turn –
turn to Jesus.    He is there, ready, waiting and already knows all the details – talk to
Him

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for always being there, for not changing and being my stabiity and my
saviour.   Help me to look for you when it is darkest, you have a plan for me and I just
need to lean and trust on you.
