Most Important Commandments – Part 1
37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ [e] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
Matthew 22:37-38 NLT
There’s a lot in this these two verses. I’ll tell you what it means to me.
To love God with all my heart, soul and mind requires me to put everything I have into it. My
entire focus is on loving God , loving His words, loving His creation all the time, whether at
home, school, church, work, vacation, running errands – always. So how do we do this?
If we truly love God, we will want to spend time with Him, to talk to Him, to be with Him. When
you love another person, you want to be around them all the time and when you aren’t with
them you are thinking about them.
If we love His words we want to read His Bible, listen or read what others have to say about
Him, gather with other like minded people. If we love His creation, we want to take care of the animals, take care of other people, specially those that need help, children, seniors, widows etc – let people see Jesus though us. This is my novice interpretation, but I think it’s pretty accurate. I encourage you today, to love
God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind.
Dear Jesus, I’m asking for you to help me to let your light shine through me and help me to
love You with all my heart, soul and mine AMEN
